The IER - Institute of Economic Research of the Chamber of Commerce of Bolzano/Bozen and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen are organizing a conference in Brussels on 11 December 2019 on “Brain Drain - Brain Gain: Local and Regional Experience”. The event is based on a study developed by IER on South Tyrol level that was presented in Bolzano/Bozen in March with great success.

Brain drain is a topic that earns very much interest. This shows that the situation must not be under estimated and that there is an urgent need to act. This is the case not only in South Tyrol, but Europe wide. That is the reason for organising this event, based also on a study that was published last year by the SEDEC Commission of the European Committee of the Regions: "Addressing Brain Drain: the local and regional dimension".

The aim of the event will be to analyse the practical aspects of the challenge and show possible solutions on local and regional level implemented Europe wide. During the podium discussion high-ranking speakers will have a closer look at this problem and present also best practices from the local and regional perspective.
