General Assembly of the Bioeconomy Pilot celebrates the first Natural Fibertastic lustrum at Biobased Delta

Biobased Delta hosted the Pilot General Assembly 2021 edition in physical and digital mode at the end of September. Researchers, entrepreneurs, politicians meet to discuss and share the latest industrial results to enhance natural fibers. New collaborations and business opportunities are triggered thanks to a program full of seminars, demonstrations, matchmaking sessions and the Biobased Safari, a physical tour among the biobased circular examples built in Bergen op Zoom.  Participants got the opportunities to visit benches made with elephant grass in Anton van Duinkerken Park, a floating bridge made of Accoya wood, and the Zoomland viaduct with bio-composite reinforced with natural fibers. The safari ended with a visit to the Plastic Application & Training Center located in the Delta Agrifood Business centre.

Circular and renewable bioaromatics building blocks for more sustainable plastics

The European Green Deal has given way to a meaningful transformation process that encourages companies to review production processes, adapting them to a new sustainable and competitive business model.

This is the focus of the workshop The supply chain of plastics in a more sustainable world, organized by TMP and Plastix, at the Volvo Congress Center in Bologna on 22 November 2021.

A day in which experts, institutions, public and private research and companies in the world of plastics will have the opportunity to illustrate the best paths to follow to successfully and profitably face the green transition.

The Pilot Bioeconomy represented by one of its managers, Fabiana Gatto illustrated business models, systems and development perspectives of the Lignocellulosic biorefinery and Bioaromatics demo-cases.
